Week One
Weight: Goal +20
Energy levels: Low, low, low. I had to have afternoon naps 4 times this week. [Edit: Make that 5.]
Diet: Poor. No pizza, but only because I was too busy stuffing my face with white bread, chocolate, soft drinks and beer.
Number of times I made it to the gym: A measly once, for 30 minutes of cardio. On the up side, I did get through day one of the 5km challenge. And survived it. Just.
General comments: After over a month of sitting on my (forever increasing) bum, I finally made it back to the gym. The gym clothes were tighter than usual. I allowed myself to be seriously derailed by the holidays and lost focus and motivation. Getting back on track after a set-back is so much harder than doing it for the first time. Failure is a bitter pill to swallow and, for me at least, leads to a terrible downward spiral. It’s sometimes hard to remember that today is a new day in which to try again. Hopefully next week will be better.
